On January 21st 2008, after a long illness fought with great courage, humour and dignity, Stephen aged 36 the beloved son of, Philip and Elaine, stepson of John and Wendy, the loving father to Ryan and Olivia, a dear loved partner and soulmate of Amanda and a dear former partner of Michelle, a loving brother of Mel and Sheryl, a dear grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend to many.
My Uncle Stephen was the most wonderful man you could ever hope to meet. He was the kindest, funniest, sweetest person, he truly was an angel on earth. He gave me two beautiful cousins Ryan and Olivia and he just brought so many smiles to my whole family's faces. Words can't describe how much he is loved by family and friends, he had so many many friends who cared for him. He had the nastiest disease possible and he didn't deserve it, I like to think he was so special that God wanted to keep him all to himself. You were an inspiration to each and every one of us Uncle Stephen, you never let it get you down, you just got on with life making people laugh and keeping your spirits up, concentrating on what you could do as opposed to what you couldn't. And most of all you smiled, you were always telling people to cheer up and smile.
You have left a huge hole in all our hearts, that part of us went on the day you left us. And this website is our way of speaking to you. Now you're free from pain, wheelchairs and respiratory masks, you enjoy your time up there and keep it cosy for us because we will all make our way back to you one day. You are the best, you always will be and I will do my best to take care of everyone here, you do the same up there.
Now you're laid to rest in your special, peaceful place we can be with you always. Our family chain will start to link up again in years to come.
Rest in Peace my Wonderful Uncle Stephen, You will never be forgotten, Always in our hearts, Forever loved forever missed. Keep shining up there precious star.

We think of you with love today but that is nothing new,
We thought about you yesterday and days before that too,

Four years today daddy still only feels like yesterday, you are missed by so many people, everyone saying what a brave man you were and how much they miss you. Just wish you were still here with us all because it is so hard to carry on without you. They is not a day goes by that i dont think of my special daddy. We are going to The Hotel tonight for a meal and some drinks with family and friends we will try our best to keep strong for you and we will all have a drink for you. Been up to the special place already to put you some flowers on but grandad is coming over so we are coming back up to see you when he comes. Your special place is full of flowers it always looks so nice. I am so PROUD to call you my daddy, I will always love and miss you daddy you meant so much to me. Four years tomorrow,since we had to say goodbye,it still hurts.Life is still a struggle,always something to worry about.You said to me dont get down,its hard at times.Miss you so much,we all need some good news,I really hope our dream comes true,I will make it a home for the family.Love you.xxxxx
Happy Christmas and a happy new year to you! Hope you have had a nice christmas up there, you should still be down here celebrating it with us all. I had a nice day you was in my thoughts a lot but they is no change there. I came up to your special place on christmas eve we put some cards and flowers on you always look lovely. Tomorrow is new years eve that was your favourite night and I always think of you more on this night. You use to love setting them big bangers off haha, never forget the time you set the fire alarm off next door to grans always makes me giggle. I wonder what 2012 brings i hope it brings some good luck to the family we don't need any more bad. It is also coming up to 4 years since that horrible disease took your life away, it still only feels like yesterday. I am just so glad we have such a close family and you have a great set of friends to keep us all going. Missing and love you so much. Hiya daddy. Nobody been on here for a while but does not mean to say that we all have not been thinking about you. We have a new addition to the family he is a little blue staffie called Sky you would have been teasing him like you use to with George. He is only 3 month old so he is a cheeky little monkey at the moment. We are having another fundraising event for you on Friday it is a race night and a disco, i am sure it will be brilliant. Your friends want to put a plague up for you in the horncastle just shows what nice friends you had and how much they all miss you. So this fundraising on Friday is going to go towards this and the MND because we still want to help people fight this horrible disease. Only 4 weeks till christmas i really can't wait but i will be thinking of you so much like i do everyday. Wish you were here so much daddy always in my thoughts. I have not been up to see you in a while so i will come up this weekend to see you and bring you some flowers. Love and miss you more than anything daddy. Hi dad,sorry i didnt come up and see you on Monday but i am at college 9 til 7 so i came to see you sunday instead. Wish you could of been here to celebrate it with us all on sunday night when we went to the whitcliffe hotel and had a buffet. It was nice to see your friends who we hadnt seen in a while and it shows that people still want to fight that horrible disease. Im sure you would of been watching us all and you would of wanted us to have a good time like we all did. College is getting better and i get paid on friday so i cant wait for that :). Nothing else really to say apart from hope you had a good birthday and i still think of you everyday.

Hello daddy. Happy birthday for yesterday i am sorry i did not come on i was just really busy. I hope you had a lovely day on monday. Your get to together on sunday was really nice so glad we have such a close family and great friends. Gran did a lovely speech i am sure you heard it, it brought a lot of tears to everyone's eyes. Hia Uncle Stephen, today you would've been 40 years old, can't believe it. It seems like forever since we last saw you now, wish you could've been there with us all last night having a few drinks. I'm sure you were there with us really, and heard Grandma's lovely speech. It's overwhelming how much money friends and family have raised for MND since your passing. Let's all keep our fingers crossed it helps to find a cure and nobody else has to go through what you went through. We were all so proud of Ryan and his GCSE results, you made quite the little genius (although he's not so little anymore!!) and Olivia is brilliant with Joel, I think she'd like a career in childcare, she's brilliant with kids.
